Hook
Politicians, bureaucrats, and their associates — the decision-makers whose public footprint runs through this data.
Key Numbers
- Register of Interests disclosures [parliamentary]
- Project and contract connections [BP4]
- Public statements logged [Hansard + media]
- Ego-network graph per subject [derived]
Context
"Subject" is deliberately neutral. It doesn't mean suspect. It means "a person whose public-record footprint intersects with Victorian infrastructure decision-making or delivery". MPs, ministers, senior public servants, board members, named associates — anyone whose public role puts them in the flow of decisions.
Each subject has a profile: their bio, their declared interests from the parliamentary register, their public statements on record, their connections to projects we track, and an ego-network graph of their public relationships. The right of reply applies — any subject can request factual corrections, and we make them.
Takeaway
Decisions about billions in public money are made by people. This is who those people are, based on what they have disclosed.
Share Stat
Every decision-maker in Victorian infrastructure, with their disclosed interests, statements, and public connections.

Treasurer of Victoria since December 2014. Member for Werribee since 2006. ALP Right faction (Labor Unity). Former assistant secretary of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) — union background before entering parliament. Has announced he will not recontest the next election.
Signed off on every Big Build budget allocation. Managed Victoria's descent from near-zero net debt ($19B in 2014) to $150.9B (2024). Annual interest payments: $6.8B ($18.6M/day). Repeatedly characterised the debt as 'good debt' invested in productive infrastructure.
Also holds Industrial Relations portfolio — the portfolio responsible for state-level union regulation. Did not act on CFMEU corruption despite being both the Treasurer funding the projects AND the IR Minister with oversight of union conduct.
Approved the Transurban West Gate Tunnel unsolicited proposal without competitive tender. Budget Papers consistently underestimated Big Build project costs. Victoria's credit rating outlook downgraded by Moody's and S&P. Debt-to-GSP ratio highest of any Australian state.
