Hook

Politicians, bureaucrats, and their associates — the decision-makers whose public footprint runs through this data.

Key Numbers

  • Register of Interests disclosures [parliamentary]
  • Project and contract connections [BP4]
  • Public statements logged [Hansard + media]
  • Ego-network graph per subject [derived]

Context

"Subject" is deliberately neutral. It doesn't mean suspect. It means "a person whose public-record footprint intersects with Victorian infrastructure decision-making or delivery". MPs, ministers, senior public servants, board members, named associates — anyone whose public role puts them in the flow of decisions.

Each subject has a profile: their bio, their declared interests from the parliamentary register, their public statements on record, their connections to projects we track, and an ego-network graph of their public relationships. The right of reply applies — any subject can request factual corrections, and we make them.

Takeaway

Decisions about billions in public money are made by people. This is who those people are, based on what they have disclosed.

Controversy (from Wikipedia)
Jenny Mikakos (born 25 January 1969) is a former Australian politician for the Labor Party who was a Member of the Legislative Council of Victoria from 1999 to 2020. She served as the Minister for Health, Minister for Ambulance Services and Minister for the Coordination of Health and Human Services COVID-19 as well as Deputy Leader of the Government, but resigned these positions and from parliament on 26 September 2020 in the wake of criticism of her role in hotel quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Political career Mikakos was elected to Northcote City Council in 1993, serving briefly until the Kennett government dismissed all councils in 1994.[1] She was first elected to parliament as the Member for Jika Jika Province in the State of Victoria in September 1999.[2] From 1999 until 2006, she represented the Legislative Council province of Jika Jika. Mikakos' electorate was abolished at the 2006 election as part of major reforms of the Legislative Council introduced after the 2002 election, but she won the second position on the Labor ticket for the replacement electorate, the larger, five-member Northern Metropolitan Region. She was first on the Labor ticket at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 elections. In Parliament, Mikakos held the roles of Parliamentary Secretary for Justice, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning, Shadow Minister for Community Services, Children, Youth Affairs, Youth Justice and Seniors and Ageing, Minister for Families and Children, Early Childhood Educat

Notes

MLC for Northern Metropolitan 1999-2020. Health Minister 2018-2020.

The ONLY minister to resign over the hotel quarantine failures that caused Victoria's devastating second wave (801 deaths). Publicly accused Daniel Andrews of misleading the Coate Board of Inquiry. Her resignation contrasts sharply with Allan and other senior ministers who remained in their positions despite shared cabinet responsibility.

Her treatment raises questions about whether she was scapegoated for a collective failure — Andrews told the inquiry he 'didn't recall' who made the decision to use private security, and no other minister was held accountable.
