Hook

Politicians, bureaucrats, and their associates — the decision-makers whose public footprint runs through this data.

Key Numbers

  • Register of Interests disclosures [parliamentary]
  • Project and contract connections [BP4]
  • Public statements logged [Hansard + media]
  • Ego-network graph per subject [derived]

Context

"Subject" is deliberately neutral. It doesn't mean suspect. It means "a person whose public-record footprint intersects with Victorian infrastructure decision-making or delivery". MPs, ministers, senior public servants, board members, named associates — anyone whose public role puts them in the flow of decisions.

Each subject has a profile: their bio, their declared interests from the parliamentary register, their public statements on record, their connections to projects we track, and an ego-network graph of their public relationships. The right of reply applies — any subject can request factual corrections, and we make them.

Takeaway

Decisions about billions in public money are made by people. This is who those people are, based on what they have disclosed.

Share Stat

Every decision-maker in Victorian infrastructure, with their disclosed interests, statements, and public connections.

Misleading fuel excise email — 'Big news for your next fill-up'
Email sent 29 March 2026 from aaron@aaronvioli.com.au via Mailchimp claiming credit for fuel excise cuts and directing constituents to a 'Fuel Savings Calculator' on his website. The email frames a temporary 3-month excise cut (26.3c/L halved from 52.6c/L) as a major win, while ignoring that: (a) the cut is temporary and reverts, (b) GST still applies on top of excise (tax on tax), (c) Australia imports ~90% of fuel with only ~30 days reserves, (d) the underlying fuel supply crisis remains unaddressed. Classic political credit-claiming for a short-term bandaid.

Shadow Minister for Digital Economy — delivery assessment
As Shadow Minister for the Digital Economy, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Cyber Security, Violi holds three shadow portfolios. Concrete policy proposals or shadow ministry outputs in these areas have been limited. These are critical portfolios given AI, cyber threats, and digital infrastructure needs — the question is whether the titles translate to substantive policy work.

Electorate covers Operation Sandon territory — Casey Council developer influence
Aaron Violi represents the federal electorate of Casey, the same region investigated by IBAC in Operation Sandon (2019-2023). The investigation exposed developer John Woodman's systematic influence over Casey Council via $470,000+ in donations to both Labor and Liberal parties, with …

Notes

Member for Casey since 2022 federal election, winning with 1.5% margin. Improved to 52.9% TPP at 2025 election (+4% primary swing — one of only two Liberals nationally to achieve this). Born 6 August 1984 in Canberra. Third-generation Casey resident — grandparents Antonino and Grazia Violi emigrated from Italy to Silvan in 1953. Attended Yarra Glen Primary School and Mount Lilydale Mercy College. MBA (Deakin University), BA Honours (La Trobe University). Pre-politics career: Yarra Valley Snack Foods (sales team lead, 2007-2014), Mars Australia (post-2014), Ritual social food ordering startup (Head of Partnerships Asia Pacific, 2019). Brief role as political adviser to Victorian Liberal Senator James Paterson. Liberal National Right faction. Perfect party-line voter — never voted against party majority since entering Parliament. Electorate of Casey covers 2,466 sq km with ~113,307 enrolled electors. Includes Mount Evelyn, Lilydale, Chirnside Park, Wonga Park, Kilsyth, Mooroolbark, Yarra Valley, and Dandenong Ranges. Electorate office: 110-112 Main Street, Lilydale VIC 3140 (two-storey refurbished building on the main street). Youngest Opposition Whip appointed in over 50 years (June 2025). 3 shadow portfolios but limited concrete policy proposals to date. Most claimed 'achievements' are advocacy/letters rather than legislation. Casey electorate historically linked to Operation Sandon — IBAC investigation into developer John Woodman's influence at Casey Council via $470K+ in split donations to both Labor and Liberal parties.
